Patty Genday MBA, MSN, RN
Patty Genday is the Chief Nursing Officer and Vice President of Patient Care Services at UPMC Magee-Womens Hospital, a 363 bed specialty care hospital for women and infants. Magee is a nationally recognized leader in women’s health and research, noting multiple distinct centers of excellence.
Prior to this, she served as Executive Director of Women’s Services at Magee with oversight of multiple inpatient and outpatient departments and programs. In collaboration with her medical staff colleagues, she developed the Pregnancy Recovery Center which is recognized state-wide as a center of excellence with extraordinary outcomes for women and their babies addicted to opioids. Having spent her entire career at UPMC in many diverse roles in the community and academic medical center setting, Patty has clinical expertise in both the Cardiac and Women’s Health service lines.
Ms. Genday is an adjunct faculty member at Indiana University of PA and educates students in Nursing Leadership at the undergraduate graduate level. She feels mentoring future nurses is an integral part of being a nurse leader. She has both a Bachelor and Master degree in Nursing from Indiana University of PA and a Master in Business Administration from St. Francis University.
Patty’s passion for nursing is seen in her daily work with colleagues and patients. The importance of being a professional role model for nurses is recognized in her four daughters who have pursued advance practice degrees in nursing as well.
