Camellia Herisko, DNP, MSN, RN, PMHCNS-BC, CRNP
Camellia Herisko, DNP, MSN, RN, PMHCNS-BC, CRNP is currently the Vice President of Operations and Patient Care Services and Chief Nursing Officer at UPMC Western Psychiatric Hospital. Dr. Herisko has held this role since 2013 but has been employed at UPMC Western Psychiatric Hospital for approximately 35 years.
In her current role, Dr. Herisko is responsible for all administrative processes associated with the WPIC 253 bed inpatient facility, the Diagnostic Evaluation Center (DEC) and resolve Crisis Services. Dr. Herisko functions as the CNO in addition to some responsibilities of the Vice President of Operations.
Administrative oversight is provided for the following areas: Nursing, Social Work, Care Management, Housekeeping, Dietary, Safety, Security and Parking, Clinical Support, Phlebotomy Services, Primary Care, Infection Control, Pharmacy, Central Supply, Creative and Expressive Arts Therapy, Staff Development, Consult & Liaison Services, Emergency Preparedness, Clinical Inpatient Operations and Center for Interventional Psychiatry.
Dr. Herisko also has administrative oversight of the Inpatient Service Line which includes all inpatient units and outpatient services associated with the Behavioral Health Hospitals and units within UPMC.
After graduating with her diploma in 1985, Dr. Herisko received her BSN from LaRoche College and went on to receive two Masters from the University of Pittsburgh as a Nursing Clinical Specialist in Psychiatric Mental Health and a Masters as a Psychiatric Adult Nurse Practitioner. In 2012, she completed her Doctor of Nursing Practice from the University of Pittsburgh. Dr. Herisko is certified through the ANA as a Certified Nurse Clinical Specialist in Psychiatry.
Dr. Herisko is also an Adjunct Faculty at the University of Pittsburgh School of Nursing and is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Psychiatry in the School of Medicine, Department of Psychiatry.
Dr. Herisko is a member of the American Psychiatric Nurses Association and the American Organization of Nurse Executives.
